There is a particular sensation in the face of something that seems to have no bottom: the coldness of trying, in vain, to reach the riverbed with your feet; the silent vertigo of a precipice; the lingering contemplation of an unmoving mountain at night, of the endless tangle of a forest, or of the vast darkness of the sea. Montes — a duo formed by Arianna Casellas and Kauê Gindri, which emerged in 2021 with the release of the album VOZES ANTENAS FRAGAS (Lovers & Lollypops) — attempt, in their own way, to translate this sense of awe using the tools at their disposal. Voices, amplified cello, electric guitar and winds shape volatile geographies open to improvisation, tension and silence, in an endless blind drawing of free contours between experimentation and song.

alga, the pseudonym of Cláudia Simões, approaches music from a performative and emotional perspective, taking the listener on a sensory and supernatural journey through a deeply personal and evocative soundscape. With spectral voices, field recordings, improvisation and looping, she creates a sound field haunted by spirits, patient and contemplative, filled with memories and hazy allusions.
