FEARS + LAURA OLIM
Fears is Irish artist, musician and producer Constance Keane. Combining reflective electronics, acoustic samples, and haunting vocals with organic visuals, Fears invites the listener on an ethereal journey, blurring the boundaries between music and visual art. Her minimalist approach centres on emotive subjects, which are all-at-once deeply personal yet remarkably universal.
Two albums in and Paste Magazine has declared Fears "a fucking force to be reckoned with." Her debut album "Oíche" in 2021 was named as one of The Guardian Readers' Top Albums of 2021, CLASH Magazine's Top Albums of 2021, and the Irish Independent's Top Irish Albums of 2021. Her follow up "affinity" showcased collaborations with Jemima Coulter, Ailbhe Reddy, Aga Ujma, and Sophie Gwen Williams written and recorded between London, New York, and Dublin. Flood Magazine called it "an intensely beautiful album from start to finish."
Gaining a reputation for immersive live shows, highlights include Eurosonic, SXSW, Other Voices, Body & Soul, Quarter Block Party, Ireland Music Week, and more.
Fears has received acclaim across the world, with her music being covered by The Guardian, iD Magazine, The Sunday Times, DJ Mag Spain, Hot Press, Sunday Business Post, Irish Tatler, Noisey, Huck Magazine, BBC Arts, the Irish Independent & Nialler9.
As a founding member of critically acclaimed feminist punk band M(h)aol, Fears has toured Europe and the UK.
Her fashion design has been featured in publications such as Vogue Italia, The Sunday Independent, Irish Country Magazine, STELLAR Magazine, and more.
Laura is a musician, songwriter, and producer from Estarreja, Aveiro, currently based in Porto. She moved to the city at the age of 19 to study Languages and International Relations, after spending her formative years in Estarreja. It was between these two places that she began writing her first songs, often sketching lyrics and melodies during the train journeys that connected them.
In 2023, she co-founded the band Desire Haze, contributing as a songwriter and musician while developing her own artistic voice. With the band, she has performed at venues across Portugal, including Maus Hábitos in Porto, Gretua in Aveiro, and CAAA in Guimarães. In 2026, Desire Haze released its debut album, "Not So Distant, One Day".
Alongside her work with the band, Laura has continued to cultivate her solo project, drawing from years of songwriting and an ever-growing interest in music production. Her artistic path has been shaped by the intersection of different places, creative communities, and collaborative experiences, resulting in a body of work that reflects both personal expression and a commitment to independent music-making.
Laura's solo project exists somewhere between bedroom experimentation and emotional confession. Emerging from a desire to take complete control of her creative process, she began producing her own music as a way of learning by doing—building songs from the ground up and embracing the imperfections, surprises, and discoveries that come with it.
Rooted in a DIY approach, her music moves freely between genres and influences, guided more by instinct than convention. Each release becomes an opportunity to explore new sonic landscapes, blending intimate songwriting with textured production, raw energy, and a willingness to experiment. Rather than presenting a polished final product, Laura's work often feels like an open diary: honest, evolving, and deeply personal.
Her SoundCloud serves as both a creative playground and an archive of this ongoing process, documenting a body of work that is constantly shifting and expanding. Whether through sparse, delicate arrangements or more distorted and assertive moments, her songs are united by a commitment to emotional authenticity.
Vulnerability sits at the centre of Laura's songwriting. Her lyrics explore the tensions between fragility and strength, comfort and discomfort, connection and isolation. With a voice that moves between tenderness and urgency, she transforms personal experiences into something collective, creating songs that invite listeners to find their own meanings within them.
Through her music, Laura seeks to create spaces of catharsis, comfort, and release. Her project is an invitation to feel deeply, embrace uncertainty, and find beauty in the unfinished—an ever-evolving exploration of sound, emotion, and self-expression.
