Femme Falafel / Raquel Pimpão is a noble trickster with a fiery heart, proudly raised in the land of thermal waters and suggestive knick-knacks. Passionate about mischievous chords, young-mother puns, and petit gâteau, she writes songs to hide the wounds that Betadine can't see and to conquer the triathlons of dullness. She creates instrumentals that are friends with consonance and rhymes that are enemies of haikus. In awkward glamour or elegant stumbling, she shoots her arrow toward the praise of foolishness. After all, fate is not her forte.
She just released, in October of this year, Dói-Dói Proibido, her first studio album: 10 songs that, after a long wait on low heat, decided to make their way into the world. In this work, pain is denied with fantasy and humor. Each track finds, in the absurd and transparent irony, a possible antidote to spiritual ills and existential stagnation.
