Joana Brito (Black Wizards, Sunny AM) and Tiago Sampaio (Grandfather’s House, St. James Park) have known each other for around a decade, their friendship having grown from sharing stages and an ongoing exchange of musical ideas.

With backgrounds spanning rock, psychedelia, pop and electronic music, the two musicians found common ground in this project.

Performing as a duo, Glass Glass is centred around the exploration of the electric guitar and the dialogue between the two instruments, supported by subtle drum machines. Drawing on memories, travels and discoveries gathered over the years, as well as a constant return to the quiet villages in northern Portugal where they both grew up, the project embraces influences ranging from Portuguese music and folk to contemporary and experimental sounds. Their aim is to explore minimalism and push melodies and sonic textures to their limits. The result is a light, unpretentious sonic language that invites listeners to slow down, listen carefully and disconnect from the outside world.

The project's debut EP, Daydream Country Club, was released on April 24.
