Novos Românticos is a post-punk project from Porto, led by David Félix, which has just released its first full-length album, Criptopátria .
If there’s one thing daily life doesn’t teach us, it’s a consistent way to deal with anomalies; that doesn’t mean, however, that we can’t declaim them over a sound that carries a certain sense of color.
In an effort to mirror experiences as they come to us, Novos Românticos follows a social and political path — a raw and faithful portrait of the many social, environmental, and political issues in Portuguese society.
The wave that, at one point, swept through the UK post-punk scene finds in this project an intriguing translation to the #tugalife that affects us all — sparing only a few — in a journey that has just begun and promises much more to give.
After releasing the EP “Saudade Internacional” in 2024 and presenting it in various venues across the country, the project now unveils its debut album, with the first live performance scheduled for April 18 at RCA — Radioclube Agramonte.
Criptopátria explores the project’s post-punk/interventionist aesthetic and addresses themes such as nuclear threat, geopolitical tensions, and the polarization of the contemporary world — with some love and heartbreak along the way.
Bastonada is an Electropunk band from Porto, formed in 2025. The project blends analog synthesizers, pounding beats, distorted electric guitars, and urgent, satirical lyrics. On stage, their shows are intense and straight to the point, with an energy that pushes the audience to feel the rawness and rebellion of punk.
The band is the result of two members coming together from different musical backgrounds, creating a fusion of electronic music, punk, prog, and noise. Bastonada are Alexandre Sequeira (“THOVEN”), Guilherme Marta (“O Marta”), João Araújo and Marco Moura.
