PSYCHOLOGY - Interarts and Interdisciplinary Thematic Cycle
The Nuisis Zobop Center for Creation and Research will close the Interarts and Interdisciplinary Thematic Cycle on November 22. This final gathering, dedicated to Psychology, will feature Ana Coimbra Oliveira, Paulo Azevedo, Sónia Carvalho, Hugo Calhim Cristóvão, and Joana von Mayer, moderated by Cristina Aguiar.
The fourth and final conversation of the cycle invites reflection on Psychology as a space for listening to and analyzing the human experience, marked by the fragility and impermanence of the present. Like dance — which unfolds in the instant of a moving body — and philosophy — which questions the transitory and unfinished nature of thought — Psychology is confronted with the mutability of reality: emotions that transform, bonds that are remade, identities that shift.
This impermanence manifests not only in the intimate dimension of the individual but also in social phenomena: communities in constant reconfiguration, cultural practices that emerge and disappear, relationships of power and solidarity that dissolve or reinvent themselves.
Rather than interpreting fragility as a threat, this encounter proposes recognizing it as a condition for transformation. Just as in art, where the instant becomes creative matter, in social dynamics impermanence can also hold power — opening paths to new gestures, new encounters, and new ways of imagining the future. In the artistic world, this reflection inspires new directions, guided by the fragility of the moment and the irreversibility of change.
