This month we bring you something different — a theoretical garden session dedicated to the theme of Permaculture. With Filipa Almeida, we will learn about this concept that teaches us how to cultivate in greater harmony with our ecosystem.
At Agra, we have a garden with five beds of vegetables and aromatic herbs. These beds were built over time by Agra residents during our monthly garden meet-ups. Throughout the process, we counted on the essential guidance and enthusiasm of Filipa Almeida from @jardins_al_dente.
The beds were fertilized with compost produced here, made from kitchen and bar food scraps, creating a direct relationship between cultivation and consumption.
During harvest season, the produce is shared with the community, and some plants are used in Agra’s kitchen to enrich dishes with flavors grown just next door.
More than a growing space, the garden has become a place for gathering, learning, and pausing — where participants can find a moment to slow down, simply be, and connect with nature in the midst of the city and busy days.
