Born between Porto and Lisbon, Burgueses Famintos bring together João Silveira (texts and voice), Manuel Molarinho (bass, pedals and loopstation) and João Pedro Fonseca (visual installation and imagery), navigating hybrid territories between text, sound and image. With error and the chaos of improvisation as their foundation, the project prioritizes the construction of an unrepeatable and therefore rare moment, where the poem — repeated, reformulated or modulated — merges with music and sounds created in real time, as happens too with the visual installation. This opens the possibility of a more human and therefore fallible path, where every option is valid and every trajectory accessible. CICLOMANIA is the collective’s 3rd release, following Motores Gerais and SAMO, and will be published by Nervosa.

CICLOMANIA is an audiovisual performance built from a poem-report describing the process of excitation and collapse of a mind trapped in the suspicion of a latent mental illness, struggling to rationally formalize it in order to obtain some form of control or answer. Divided into four cycles — ascending/descending; descending/ascending; ascending/descending/ascending; descending/zero — it recreates, as closely as possible, the external and internal landscape of a psyche caught between rational coldness and generalized emotional chaos.
